Yarmouth-Dennis Youth Hockey, Inc. (since 1972)
Cape Cod Waves (since 1996)
Yarmouth-Dennis Youth Hockey is a community based hockey program located in Dennis, MA. Under the umbrella of YDYH is also our all girls hockey program, the Cape Cod Waves. We provide volunteer services for the development and growth of youth hockey for boys and girls from Yarmouth-Dennis and welcome players from across Cape Cod. YDYH/CCWAVES are governed by a board of directors who oversee both programs.
There are three distinct advantages to the community-based model. Perhaps most importantly, this model allows players to develop their hockey skills at their home rink. While "for profit" club hockey involves significant travel and far greater financial commitment, at YDYH/CCWAVES, players get to practice and play locally, with their best friends, from Mites through High School. Secondly, our association works directly with the community in supporting hockey and maintaining a volunteer based, non-profit structure, which keeps the cost of tuition down. The third advantage is in many ways a by-product of the first two, limiting the cost and travel involved in playing hockey allows more kids to particiapate and learn to love the game, which in turn makes hockey affordable for more families. Through generous donations and our annual Cranberry Classic Tournament (one of the largest "all girl" tournaments in the United States) we are able to offer scholarships to families and have a privately run on and off ice skills practice facilitated by Cape Cod Hockey once a week for all of our rostered players. If you have any questions or want to learn more about our programs please email ydyhinfo@gmail.com.
Thank you, we look forward to working with our hockey players and families!
